Ihre Aufgaben

As part of this project, you will contribute to advancing the field of dynamic operating strategies for Alkaline Water Electrolysis (AWE) by focusing on the following:

  1. Model Development for AWE Optimization
    • Conduct comprehensive literature research on AWE modeling and relevant phenomena.
    • Implement and compare different modeling approaches, while enhancing existing methods.
    • Develop scripts for model initialization and improve numerical stability to ensure robust simulations.
  2. Optimization of Operating Strategies
    • Propose optimized start-up processes and evaluate/develop new operating concepts based on the developed model.
    • Design safe and efficient operating strategies for various scenarios.
  3. Detailed Model Refinements
    • Validate and refine models for high current densities and pressures to address critical system limitations.
Ihr Profil

We are seeking a motivated master’s student with the following qualifications:

  • A background in chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in modeling, simulation, and optimization.
  • Passion for contributing to future technologies and supporting the energy transition
  • Proficiency in numerical methods and programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar tools).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver reliable and structured results.
  • The ability to work independently and bring innovative ideas to the project.
  • Excellent communication skills; the thesis can be written in German or English.
