thyssenkrupp nucera’s donation supports earthquake victims and rescue work in Turkey and Syria

• thyssenkrupp nucera supports aid alliance “Aktion Deutschland hilft” with an immediate donation of 10,000 Euro
• Employees can take up to 5 days special leave for voluntary relief work

Dortmund, February 14, 2023 – It was with great shock and dismay that the Executive Board and employees of thyssenkrupp nucera followed the dramatic consequences of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. They want to support the people in this difficult time. For this reason, the Dortmund-based company is making a short-term donation of 10,000 Euro to “Aktion Deutschland hilft” to support the earthquake victims and rescue work in Turkey and Syria. The German aid alliance is an association of German aid organizations with the aim of providing the victims with the help they need quickly and unbureaucratically.

In line with the recommendations of aid organizations, the company refrains from making donations in kind and has opted instead for a cash donation. In addition, thyssenkrupp nucera employees at the
Dortmund site can take up to five days of special leave to volunteer for a recognized national or international aid organization. The donation forms another aid cornerstone of the thyssenkrupp
fundraising campaign. Together the group is thus supporting the aid alliance “Aktion Deutschland hilft” with an immediate donation of 55,000 Euro.

“Our sympathies go out to all those affected who have lost their homes and loved ones or are still fearing for the lives of the missing and injured. Our thoughts are also with our colleagues who have been directly
or indirectly affected and with those who are helping the affected people in the ground in Turkey and Syria with their knowledge and experience. We wish them much strength in these difficult times,” says Dr.
Werner Ponikwar, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board thyssenkrupp nucera AG & Co. KGaA.
